Heres a little bit of information on Hibbard, Spencer , & Bartlett. The very large hardware distributor who used the Rev-O-Noc trademark. If memory serves me right(always a question), Conover was a vice-president? of the company and it was to honor him that they used the trademark. Kind of what Stanley did with the Sweethart logo.

Mike----Most of the Conover part is lost in history, but he did something that allowed the use of Rev-o-noc on the tools as well as many other items.  If you will check rev-o-noc on e-bay you will see the items with that logo.  I also have a number of rev-o-noc monkey wrenches.

I'm making progress!  I spent some time last night opening the throat just enough to allow a shaving to pass through it.  Time to shape the body and wedge.

Thanks!  I'm almost done.  I need to slightly camber the iron just enough to keep the corners from leaving track marks on the workpiece.  I'm hoping this will be a good smoother for small to mid size projects.

Well, here are two more that I bought at auction recently and rejuvenated to be users or better.  The Stanley #7C from about 1900 and a Stanley #8 somewhat later.  They came as a pair for $25.00.  I really bought them for the wood which was near perfect on both, but when I got them home they were too good to part out. There were other planes at the auction, but all were trash compared to the two I bought.

I have caught the hay trolley virus and have just restored my second one.

$25 for both is insanely good, although my free No. 7 at a contractor's retirement sale beats that slightly - but it came all dirty and somewhat rusted.

Well done coolford!!  A couple more very nicely finished restorations.   It's good to see these old planes getting cleaned up and put back into working order.  I truly admire your appreciation for them.  Nice job!

We miss our usual large family Thanksgiving, but are appreciative that the close ones are together. Big feast at our #2 son's house and in a hour or so, we will go across the street to our #1 son's ladyfriend's family for more !!!

I hope everyone enjoys a very Merry Christmas with family and friends.......even if it's from a social distance.
