Never seen one of these sets before.  The fact that it is Buffum made it quickly mine.

Nope...  These look like a file that has been polished and turned at the end.  I'll post a picture of a single scraper soon.

 Neat never saw this set. On Hardware Companies Kollectors Klub site they show this set onfront of pamphlet for Buffum tools and attribute it to Hardware Age Magazine. 1915  Picture is pretty small and I,m not skilled enough to track down a larger picture. Maybe one of the skilled researchers here (insert Rusty) can help.

Scrapers from file blanks is very odd, but on reflection, very sensible and frugal, file steel can be annealed, and can then be made very very hard, perfect for scrapers, and about the right shape to start with...

Makes me wonder where they got them tho....

Another thing I find odd is that the LOGO is stamped LA, MO.  Every other tool I have seen has Louisiana spelled out.  Not sure what that means, but probably sets the tools in a certain time period.  Not sure what period that is... but I'm sure it means something.
