Galvanized Can

Hello, I picked up a few small tools the other day, and the seller gave me this can to put them in. It is approx. 9-1/4" in diameter, and approx. 9-1/4" tall, could not find the lid. It is stamped what appears to be 20 QUARTS LIQUID. There is what appears to be an X , or crossed swords on the 2. Third photo shows another unusual logo, a shield? heart? Just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before. Heavy for its size, about 6 pounds. Thanks, Lou       P.S., I will try to post the pics of the tools tomorrow!!!!

I think we're on the right track with milk container.  I spotted this... it's only 10 quarts but very similar....

Galvanized ? or tin plated?  Galvanized would pretty much eliminate it as a food container. Tin plate would likely point to food. Looks like an old school ice cream freezer can. Just a guess???

ebay item number 401226108879    vintage metal ice cream container.  10 liq. qts.   10" tall and 9" dia.

or in ebat, just search for vintage metal ice cream containers, there are a few.
