Micro Master or Master Micro?

I picked this up a while ago, but am no closer to learning anything about it.  It says "Pull Back" but nothing moves.  Three detent depressions on the side of the hex shaft.  "Made in U.S.A.  Pat Pend," "Master Micro," and "Pull Back" are all I can find besides somebody's scratched in "XMTT" on the handle.
It's heavy and seems well made.

Anybody know this one?

Square shanked, with dimples. Thinking it is a screw holding screwdriver missing the outer tube shaped piece that you would 'pull back' to open the screw holding fingers at the tip....

(a way to escape the split shanked patent)

Hex shanked though.  It looks to me as though the shank could be withdrawn into the handle -- there's about an inch and a half of empty space at the
back of the handle.

It may be helpful to have a view dead on of the working end, right where the shank goes into the handle.  It does look as if that metal on the end would sleeve out - maybe allowing the shank to be removed?.

Also look at "hex-a-matic" (auto adjust nutdriver) to make sure it isn't same or similiar

No luck with hex-a-matic.  Found one hex-a-matic sold on eBay,  No resemblance at all, drat.

Does the ferrule unscrew from the handle and release the driver?
Looks like a collett handle.....

Looks like a collett handle.....

I'll try that next.  The ferrule says "pull back," but there doesn't seem to be any room to pull it back.  I like the screwdriver -- it feels hefty and strong.  It was in a tool box I got at a flea market a while back.

Oops. I misread what you wrote, Rusty.  I tried that first, but nothing wanted to move.  Maybe it's just bound up and needs a soak.

All might become clear if I could identify the manufacturer -- no luck so far on that head.
